???AllThingsD's John Paczkowski reported Tuesday that the WiFi-only version of the new iPad has been granted compulsory certification by China's Quality Certification Center, clearing it for release on the mainland.
????Sales of the new device began in Hong Kong and Singapore on March 16. According to Paczkowski, they could begin in mainland China as early as mid-April.
????It's not clear whether certification came before or after Tim Cook's trip to Beijing, or whether this signals a resolution of Apple's (AAPL) dispute with Proview over rights to the iPad trademark on the mainland.
????Paczkowski provided a link to the Quality Certification Center's website, but it's not easy to interpret -- even when translated -- if you don't read Chinese.
