轉基因生物對人類健康的影響，正在引發持續不斷的激烈爭論。Chipotle等大型連鎖餐廳日前正式禁止使用轉基因原料。許多國家和地區也發布了轉基因禁令，或者對種植這類作物施以嚴格的限制，其中包括俄羅斯、意大利托斯卡納區、包括德國在內的多個歐盟國家、菲律賓、沙特阿拉伯，以及澳大利亞塔斯馬尼亞島。

It is the only Australian state to have a blanket ban on GMOs, though it does allow exemptions for certain scientific trials of modified crops. Other areas, including South Australia, have short-term bans or restrictions on GMOs. |
