1978 Buick Century

????1978版別克世紀（Buick Century）轎車的尺寸在原型車基礎有所縮短，并進行了重新設計。它采用了與奧爾茲莫比爾短劍轎車（Olds Cutlass Salon）相同的斜背式四門轎跑設計，設計師們并不想把車身后部與車身其它部分整合到一起，因此這款轎跑的總體視覺效果更像是一臺掀背車，而不是斜背車。雖然通用汽車在70年代末的市場占有率仍然很高，但這款斜背式四門較跑的銷量并不出眾。1980年，這款轎車經過重新設計，車身變成了傳統的凹背式車身。

????When the downsized, redesigned Century appeared, it came in the form of a fastback sedan, a body style that it shared with the Olds Cutlass Salon. Stylists made no attempt to integrate the rear end of the car with the rest of it, and the overall effect is more hatchback than fastback. Although GM was still riding high in the late `70s, the fastback sedan did not sell well and it was redesigned as a conventional notchback for 1980.
