Samsung's Android-powered Galaxy S dethrones iPhone in Japan
????Japan's iPhone-loving population has taken home the Galaxy S more than any phone over the past week, according to Japanese market researcher BCN.
????During the last week in October, the Samsung Galaxy S phone running Android 2.2 was the top selling smartphone in Japan, beating out both the 32 GB iPhone and the 16GB iPhone (but not both combined). The week marked the debut of the Galaxy S phone so there might have been some pent-up demand.
????Samsung expects to sell 10 million Galaxy S phones, which debuted late in the summer in the U.S., by the end of the year. The light, powerful four-inch screen device has been popular all over the world.
????Samsung has an event on Monday in New York to launch Continuum, another Galaxy S phone on Verizon in the U.S. Stand-out features on the Continuum include a ticker and a smaller, Super AMOLED main screen. Samsung might also have some other surprises, like a Nexus Two. Via Jonny Evans
